Budimex has chosen EFLA in Poland as a subcontractor, recognising our expertise and capabilities, for the crucial task of expanding and modernising the Piła Krzewina power station. The Polish transmission system operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) is the project’s investor.

Energy Stability

Upon its completion, the substation and the 400 kV lines it will be connected to will serve as a vital component of the transmission infrastructure. This infrastructure is essential for ensuring stable energy supplies to western and northern Poland and for distributing energy from offshore wind farms and a nuclear power plant, thereby contributing to the region's energy stability and development.

As part of the project, EFLA will:

  • Expand the 400 kV switchgear
  • Design new 400/110 kV autotransformers
  • Upgrade the existing 220 kV line to 400 kV
  • Modernize the station's infrastructure
  • Design transition systems

The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), an EU funding instrument, supports the investment. The project's total value is over 54M EUR. EFLA electrical and civil engineers will work for 23 months on the design alone.

This collaboration with Budimex and Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. represents a significant investment in western and northern Poland's energy stability and development.
