EFLA has worked on several new steel and concrete bridges for the Norwegian and Icelandic Road Administrations as well as Icelandic municipalities over the last few years. Some of these bridges are currently under construction.
Shared experience from Iceland and Norway has enhanced the working procedures of the EFLA bridge group and the team members are active in international collaboration and development of analysis tools.

The EFLA team of bridge experts carries out diverse work on bridge structures:

The main objective of the works is to procure solutions that are technically safe, durable and economical, whilst obtaining harmony with the natural and man-made environments at the bridge sites. On most bridge projects, EFLA collaborates with capable bridge architects. Bridge structures procured by EFLA have won awards in recent years, footbridges as well as road bridges.

The bridge team works closely with architects and cycling specialists in delivering attractive pedestrian and cycling bridges. Some of the projects have been aimed specifically at promoting cycling as means of commuting.
Expertise in bridge strengthening and maintenance gained by the team in recent years is valuable to clients responsible for the operation of a high number of aging bridge structures.
