Broad experience

EFLA has highly qualified staff with extensive experience in design, construction supervision, and international standards application. Our unique strength is the broad experience and culture of our staff who originate from utilities, construction environments, consultancies, and university.

EFLA has occupied various roles in projects such as lead design engineers, utility engineers assessing EPC designs, site engineers, and engineers providing technical services during construction. EFLA is currently one of the main substation consultants for Landsnet, the Icelandic network operator.

EFLA has designed both indoor and outdoor, air and gas-insulated substations. Voltage levels include 66 kV, 132 kV, 220 kV, 300 kV and 400 kV. Special applications include two Static VAr Compensator stations in Iceland.

We strive to remain abreast of the latest technology in substation design, including designing IEC 61850 compliant substation control and protection systems. We perform 3D designs of substations which assist greatly in identifying and removing potential interface issues which would otherwise inhibit construction, resulting in wasteful expenditure.

EFLA designs state of the art substations that fulfil today's requirements for cost-effective design and construction with a focus on safety, quality, and the environment. EFLA's highly qualified staff cater to more than ten languages thereby facilitating international co-operation.
