EFLA made assessments on traffic noise in various areas of Rogaland state in Norway on behalf of Statens Vegvesen which is the Norwegian Road Administration.

The project´s objective
The project was divided into two parts.
First, traffic noise calculations were made along with a rough estimate on the sound reduction of facade walls and windows. Following the calculations, the buildings were categorized based on the likelihood of whether indoor noise levels from traffic noise would exceed boundaries or not.
In the second place, inspections of buildings were performed as well as calculations on indoor noise levels from traffic noise, with design of noise control measures where needed.
