EFLA created strategies for wind energy utilization to implement in municipal plans already under revision or for municipalities interested in reviewing their policies and strategies in relation to energy utilization.

The project's objective
EFLA has assisted a few municipalities with defining and analysing energy resources and shaping strategies related to utilization or preservation. EFLA did an assessment on wind energy for Snæfellsbær municipality for specific areas. Furthermore, EFLA assisted the municipality with shaping and shaped their policy for energy resources based on environmental and social factors, as well as license- and planning issues.
EFLA did a similar assessment and strategy plan for Rangárþing ytra municipality.
Environmental issues
This work was done with the municipalitys' environmental policies and visions in mind. Additionally, EFLA's policy on environment and safety issues was pursued in this project.
