The project's objective
EFLA was commissioned as the principal electrical consultant for restoration work and renovation work on the older part of one of Reykjavík's longest-established hotels, a role in which the company continues to serve to the present day.
When the hotel was extended and a new conference centre added, EFLA was responsible for the design of all electrical systems, lighting design and the design and commisioning of the building management system.
A team of EFLA project managers worked on-site throughout the project for the supervision and coordination of all the work involved, the goal being to build a top-class hotel with state-of-the-art technology incorporated throughout the building and conference centre, the largest facility of its kind in Iceland's capital.
To achieve this, strong emphasis was placed on the structure's electrical systems, as they play a key role in achieving these goals.
