EFLA participates in the European project SENSE


On 22nd - 23 of February, EFLA took part in the kick-off meeting of the new European project called Sense, Harmonised Environmental Sustainability in the European food and drink chain.

The project is supported by the 7th Framework Program of the European Commission. Twenty-three members commit to the project which is for three years. Participants come from 13 countries across Europe. Icelandic participants are the University of Iceland and EFLA Engineering and Consulting company.


The project's goal is to design a harmonized system for environmental impact assessment of food&drink procudts.


EFLA´s role in the project is to perform an LCA analysis of fish product from cradle to grave and participate in developing the so-called SENSE tool and implement in the food business.
