EFLA attends the arctic circle
A new international forum, Arctic Circle - Roundtable of the Arctic, assembles for the first time in Harpa during the days 12 to 14 October. It was the President of Iceland, Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, who, along with a range of decision-makers in the affairs of the Arctic, initiated its establishment.
Hafsteinn Helgason, Director of Business Development at EFLA, and Robert Howe, CEO of Bremenports, will speak at the conference about the potential construction of a harbour and industrial area in Finnafjord (Finnafjord harbour: A new hub in the central north Atlantic), more specifically on Sunday.
The conference will be attended by over 900 participants, including numerous political and business leaders, representatives of international organizations, scientists and environmental representatives from about 40 countries, particularly the North and countries in Europe and Asia.
Among the topics at the Arctic Circle are the melting of glaciers and climate change, security issues in the Arctic, drillings for oil and gas, ecological development and clean energy, new sea routes, the construction of harbours, Arctic rights and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, trade cooperation, investment and much more.
