Built according to environmental standards



The first of four visitors centres for the newly established Vatnajökull National Park will be built in 2009-2010 - at Skriðuklaustur in Eastern Iceland, about 70 km distant from the ice cap.

It wil be built according to a strict envirnomental standard; the first of its kind in Iceland. Arkis, Reykjavik does the architectrual design and EFLA handles the environmental consulting in cooperation with Mott McDonald.
