Þeistareykjavirkjun - EFLA

The official startup of the first unit of the 2x45 MW power plant was on November 17th while the second unit is scheduled to go online in April 2018.

13.11.2017 : Construction of a new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists at Ullevaal

EFLA Consulting Engineers have carried out the tender design of a new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists at the Ullevaal National Stadium in Oslo. Construction works on site began in the first week of November.

Construction work on a motorway junction between Reykjanesbraut and Krýsuvíkurvegur is in full swing at present. The construction of the motorway junction is a part of the doubling of the lanes of Reykjanesbraut on the section of the road between Kaldárselsvegur and Krýsuvíkurvegur.

4.10.2017 : New major vessel port in Nuuk creates numerous opportunities

The first major vessel port in Greenland was opened for business in Nuuk this summer. The port is a milestone in the economy of Greenland, which has been at a disadvantage due to lack of space and, as a result, has had limited business opportunities. The new port opens the means of ways to strengthen the economic and employment options of Greenlanders.

17.2.2017 : Protein powder processed from leftover whey

For the last few months, EFLA Consulting Engineers has been working on an greenfield project with Heilsuprótein ehf. in Skagfjordur, Iceland. The scope of the project is a new plant in Sauðárkrókur that enables production of protein powder from whey, a by-product of cheese making in Sauðárkrókur and Akureyri.

12.1.2017 : EFLA wins a design competition in Norway

Stráið háspennumastur í Osló

The Norwegian transmission system operator, Statnett, recently held a competition for new tower types for a 420 kV transmission line that crosses densely populated areas in Oslo and nearby communities. The new power line will replace an older 300 kV line and will be seen by a large number of people every day, thus making it important to blend well in with its environment.
