The National Power Company (Landsvirkjun) has advertised for tenders for construction works at the new Búdarháls Hydropower Plant in Central South Iceland (80 MW). The annual production capacity will be approx. 585 GWhrs. The tenders apply to the construction of a dam, tunnel and the power plant building (60% of the project).


EFLA has designed the power plant in cooperation with the engineering companies Mannvit and Verkís. The dam will be 24 m high and the reservoir area 7 square kilometres. The construction will be completed by the end of 2013, according to plan.
